Day 1: TRIP FROM MARRAKECH – AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE.
We will start our 3 days Marrakech Sahara desert Safari tour, driving to Ouarzazate through the dramatic Tizi ‘n’ Tichka pass (2260m), over the High Atlas Mountains, appreciating the beauty of the landscape on the twisted roads through the Berber villages. Arriving at the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, a UNESCO world heritage site, and the house of many Glaoui family members, we’ll take lunch by the Kasbah before continuing Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa”, here we will visit the Atlas Studio, Cinema Museum, and Taourirt Kasbah picture before we arrive our Hotel. Overnight in the Hotel. along the “Road of the thousand Kasbahs”- the fascinating “sandcastles”. Stopping at Kalaat Mgouna, “the rose’s city” known for roses and its annual festival during the roses harvest in May we’ll then continue to our hotel in the heart of the Dades Gorge. Overnight in our Hotel/Riad.
Day 2: OUARZAZATE – ROSE VALLEY – TODRA GORGES – SAHARA DESERT.
After breakfast in the hotel, we drive along the “Road of the thousand Kasbahs”- the fascinating “sandcastles”. Stopping at Kalaat Mgouna, “the rose’s city” known for roses and its annual festival during the roses harvest in May. Leaving the Dades valley and Rose valley towards Todra valley you’ll see panoramic views of the old mud Berber villages overlooking the valley. Arriving at the Gorge is an opportunity to walk under the 300m high red cliff, where many rock-climbers come to enjoy their preferred sport. Continuing on to Erfoud and Rissani where we’ll have lunch before heading onto Merzouga desert, where your camel will be awaiting you, guided by an experienced Camel Guide, to explore within the mysterious sand dunes of the Erg-Chebbi Desert. Overnight in a beautiful Desert Camp.
Day 3: SAHARA DESERT – RISSANI– DRAA VALLEY– MARRAKECH.
An early wake up to enjoy the sunrise over the highest dunes of Erg Chebbi desert, afterward, you will have breakfast in the camp, pack, and go back either on camels or by 4×4 leaving the dunes behind. Back on the asphalt roads, you will drive to Marrakech through Alnif, Tazarine, Draa valley, Agdez, and Ouarzazate. In Ouarzazate, we will have free time for lunch and a photo stop in front of the famous Taourirt Kasbah. Afterward, we will continue to Marrakech, where your Merzouga desert experience ends. Crossing again the Atlas Mountains and the Berber villages between Ouarzazate and Marrakech. Drop off at your accommodation. 3 days desert tour from Marrakech.
