5 days Desert tour from Marrakech to Fes, will give you an opportunity to admire the maximum possible of Sahara Desert, and experience, the beautiful panoramic views from the high Atlas Mountains, the old Kasbahs, valleys, gorges, and the unique Desert experience with camel ride and overnights in the Berber camp, Sahara Desert off road tour.
Day 1: TOUR FROM MARRAKECH – AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE.
We will start our 5 days Desert tour Marrakech to Fes, driving to Ouarzazate through the dramatic Tizi ‘n’ Tichka pass (2260m), over the High Atlas Mountains, appreciating the beauty of the landscape on the twisted roads through the Berber villages. Arriving at the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, a UNESCO world heritage site, and the house of many Glaoui family members, we’ll take lunch by the Kasbah before continuing Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa”, here we will visit the Atlas Studio, Cinema Museum, and Taourirt Kasbah picture before we arrive our Hotel. Overnight in the Hotel. along the “Road of the thousand Kasbahs”- the fascinating “sandcastles”. Stopping at Kalaat Mgouna, “the rose’s city” known for roses and its annual festival during the roses harvest in May we’ll then continue to our hotel in the heart of the Dades Gorge. Overnight in our Hotel/Riad.
Day 2: OUARZAZATE – SKOURA VALLEY – ROSE VALLEY – DADES GORGES.
Morning departure from Ouarzazate for a visit to the cinema studios and the Taourirt kasbah. Then we set off towards Skoura’s extensive palm grove on the Route of the Thousand Kasbah (with a visit to the famous Kashah of Amerhidil). On the road from Kalaa M’gouna, we cross the Valley of the Roses and return to the Valley of Dades in the Kasbah of Ait Youl. Overnight in Dades gorge.
Day 3: DADES GORGE – TODRA GORGE – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA DESERT.
Leaving the Dades valley towards Todra valley you’ll see panoramic views of the old mud Berber villages overlooking the valley. Arriving at the Gorge is an opportunity to walk under the 300m high red cliff, where many rock-climbers come to enjoy their preferred sport. Continuing on to Erfoud and Rissani where we’ll have lunch before heading onto Merzouga desert, where your camel will be awaiting you, guided by an experienced Camel Guide, to explore within the mysterious sand dunes of the Erg-Chebbi Desert. Overnight in a beautiful Desert Camp.
Day 4: MERZOUGA DESERT EXCURSION.
After breakfast, an extraordinary trip through the dunes of Merzouga will be made. We pass the nomadic camps, the village of Khamliya, (village of Gnaoua) mines of Mfis, the desert plateaus where nomads and Berbers from the desert meet, the oasis of Tissardenine, and return to the hotel. Free afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: TRAVEL TO FES FROM MERZOUGA DESERT – IFRANE – FES.
Breakfast and departure to Erfoud, passing Errachidia and the Ziz valley. We cross Midelt to have lunch and leave in the direction of Fes. Through the cedar forests of the mountains, we will reach the Middle Atlas.
